12 Community projects to benefit from a share of £40,000 this summer thanks to the Everards Community Excellence Fund!

We are delighted to announce that 12 of the community projects that applied for funding have been successful and can now go ahead.

The Everards Community Excellence Fund opened for applications throughout April with £40,000 available to support community projects within a 20-mile radius of an Everards pub. Sponsored by the Everards Family Foundation and Carling, it received over 160 project entries!

All entries went through a rigorous judging process with the successful projects going through due diligence in June.

“We are delighted to support such a variety of projects and were astounded with the number of entries we had! Reading them all was so inspiring and quite emotional to read of so many good people and projects trying to support their communities and the people within them” says Kia Ryan who formed part of the judging panel on behalf of Everards.

The successful projects, in no particular order, are;

Broughton Astley Village Hall

Home Starter Box Project

John Storer House Community Shop

Kenilworth Lions Shop

South Leicestershire Wombles

Upstairs at the Western

Paradise Allotment

There With You Fund

Shama Women’s Care

Headway Leicester

Mountsorrel & Rothley Heritage Centre

Wellbeing Café

“It’s great to see our work with Everards reaching such a wide audience and we cannot wait to see each project come to life as Everards work with them all to reach fulfilment.” Says fellow judge Phil Langley from Carling.

“We really look forward to being able to not also fund projects but get involved where we can, many of the projects are near our pubs and our business owners are also keen to connect and volunteer where they can with projects. We’ve had a great response and now have some fab projects to get underway throughout the summer which we look forward to sharing with you all” says head of the campaign for Everards, Helen Parker.
