Everards announces winner of 'name our ales' competition
Everards has announced the names of two new ales to be released following a competition run by the Leicestershire brewer on its website, giving customers an opportunity to suggest what they should be called.
Hoppyness and Hazy Daze are the winning names chosen by Carl Brett of Alfreton and John and Di Rozentals of Loughborough respectively and each winner will receive a year's worth of of Everards Tiger Best Bitter
Hoppyness (ABV 4.3 per cent) is a classic bitter with a copper colour and hoppy taste, while Hazy Daze (ABV 4.4 per cent) is a cask conditioned, cloudy wheat beer made with champagne yeast and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Everards marketing manager Erika Hardy said: "We pride ourselves on being a community spirited organisation and really value the input of our customers. With the ales having a summer release we were looking for names to embody that summery feeling and we feel the names that the winners came up with were perfect for this effect."
Carl Brett said: "I am very keen to support Everards as they are a local family brewery and it is nice to see them still striving to bring out an increasing range of real ales in an apparently decreasing market. I am also a member of CAMRA and a big fan of real ale, so I'm not going to complain about winning all that free beer!"
