Everards toasts sucess at prestigious awards

Picture about this news item

Leicestershire based Everards Brewery has received recognition from the brewing industry with a major award win.

Everards triumphed in the ‘Best Use of Electronic Media' category in the Society of Independent Brewers' (SIBA) Local Brewery Business Awards.

The company re-launched its website in August 2006 to attract consumers as well as potential tenants for its pub estate. A database management system was commissioned at the same time which automatically transfers consumer details submitted via the website to the database.

Stephen Gould, Everards' Managing Director, said: "We have invested time and money into our website to effectively reach consumers and recruit experienced and committed licensees and are delighted our efforts have been recognised in these prestigious awards."

Everards also communicates with consumers via a monthly e-newsletter and runs regular competitions and initiatives on the website which have proved extremely successful to date. These include ‘Mission Enjoyable' which involved 500 volunteers from the Midlands signing up to visit an Everards pub in their area, rating them for the quality of the food, drink and overall service.  This information will be used to provide valuable feedback for the licensees and toward each pub's score in the company's tenants' reward scheme.

The company also received a ‘highly commended' from the judges in the Best Sponsorship category for its links with Leicestershire County Cricket Club, which include ground sponsorship, hosting a series beer festivals at Twenty20 matches and naming one of its seasonal cask conditioned ales ‘Sly Fox', using the clubs' fox logo on the pump clip.
