Greyhound pub is out of the traps

Picture about this news item

The Greyhound pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme is reopening following a £150,000 investment from owners Everards Brewery and lease holders Titanic Brewery.

The George Street pub is the first joint venture for the two companies and opens its doors on Thursday 13 September 2007, creating seven new jobs and focusing on quality, real ale with ten hand pulls.

Brothers and directors of Stoke-On-Trent based Titanic Brewery, David and Keith Bott, have a wealth of industry experience and share a passion for real ale. David said: "We are excited about the Greyhound and hope both regular and new faces alike will be impressed by the significant improvements made.

"The pub has a very traditional feel, with aged oak finishes and comfy seating, and we have opened up the interior so it is lighter and more spacious. We've also introduced a new function room facility and will be providing homemade snacks, such as oatcakes which are synonymous with Stoke, freshly made soup and sandwiches, using locally sourced produce wherever possible."

A wide range of beers will be available, sourced from like minded independent brewers, to include CAMRA award winners such as Titanic's Mild (ABV 3.5 per cent) and Anchor (ABV 4.1 per cent).
