Jay jumps for charity

Picture about this news item

Jay Cooledge from Leicestershire pub The Griffin Inn is taking part in a solo skydive to help raise money for charity, alongside several colleagues.  The 12,000 foot plunge will take place on Saturday 10th May.

The volunteers will start their airborne adventure at Brigg airfield in North Lincolnshire.

They hope to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care, a charity providing information, practical assistance and emotional support for anyone affected by breast cancer and Cancer Research, the UK's leasing charity dedicated to cancer research, two charities which are close to Jay's heart.

Jay will be taking the leap on his own, performing a solo sky dive, and will complete his training that is required on the day before he jumps. His fellow adventurers will be completing tandem jumps, strapped to an instructor, who will open the parachute and make the landing.

Jay said: "Making a solo sky dive will be a real challenge, but it will be extremely rewarding if we can raise money for our two nominated charities.  The customers at the Griffin Inn are really getting behind us but we want to raise over £1,000, so are relying on the generosity of friends, family and colleagues to make it worthwhile."
