Triple Treat for Ale Fans

Picture about this news item

Cask ale fans will be celebrating as the new year sees the return of one of Everards' most popular ales, Tiger Triple Gold (ABV 5.0 per cent) exclusively for Everards pubs.

Available throughout January 2008, Tiger Triple Gold was originally brewed in 1999 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the family brewery, but has regularly reappeared since then as Everards' ‘winter warmer'.

Head brewer Graham Giblett originally developed the recipe and the ale takes its name from the three golden anniversaries celebrated by the brewery.

Erika Hardy, brands manager for Everards, said:  "Tiger Triple Gold is a great special edition beer and we're pleased to be bringing it back again for 2008.

"We're confident that cask ale fans will enjoy having it back on the bar throughout the pub estate through the long, cold January days."

Described as a classic cask ale it has the characteristics of Everards' core brand, Tiger Best Bitter, but with an added fruitiness and long dry finish.

Tiger Triple Gold captures the character and distinction of all English-grown ingredients like Maris Otter Barley, Goldings, Fuggles and Challenger Hops. The ale is a rich ruby - amber colour and is imbued with a substantial malty and subtle crystal toffee aroma with fruity hop notes.  It is a rounded beer with an excellent balance of sweet, hoppy and alcohol warming.

Other innovation ales from Everards include Pitch Black, the rugby ale which is due to return for next month's Six Nations Championship, Sly Fox, which is a springtime ale and was launched last year, plus the popular Christmas ale, Sleighbell.
