Everards Invests in Energy Efficiency

Posted on 3rd November 2009

The project which involved replacing the obsolete and soon to be non-compliant, existing main refrigeration units currently used to control beer temperatures during cold storage as well as chilling beer during the brewing and packaging process was part of an extensive development which took place at the brewery based in Castle Acres, Leicestershire.

As part of the installation process a 35 ton KATO truck mounted crane was required to lift the new refrigeration units into place and dominated the skyline throughout the day.

Steve Brassington, Everards Engineering and Compliance Manager said:”This new plant ensures we are not only legally compliant with Health and Safety regulations but also furthers Everards commitment to the local environment. The new unit is easier and cheaper to maintain and run, more energy efficient and does not carry the legionella risks associated with the cooling towers.”
