Everards Raises A Glass To The Great British Pint
Posted on 6th April 2009
Everards is galvanising support for Britain’s national drink for the industry’s inaugural National Cask Ale Week this week. Cask Ale Week is all about celebrating Britain’s National Drink and over 6000 pubs are participating in activities nationwide. If you have never tried a pint of cask beer then now is the time to give it a go or introduce a friend.
Everards has utilised it’s ‘Mission Enjoyable’ mystery shopper scheme where ‘special agents’ visit and rate local Everards pubs to help monitor quality standards, with Cask Ale Week’s challenge for ale lovers to ‘recommend a friend’ who hasn’t tried the drink before. Anybody can become an agent and be eligible for future missions, simply visit the Mission Enjoyable website to sign up.
Everards’ marketing manager Erika Hardy said: “We plan to utilise the network of pub fans already registered through Mission Enjoyable to help spread the work on Britain’s national drink, cask conditioned ale.
“Agents will be asked to go to Everards pubs during Cask Ale Week and buy a pint of Tiger for themselves and a non ale drinking friend. They will then rate the overall quality of their pub visit, which will supply the licensee with some valuable customer feedback, and hopefully succeed in persuading their friend that ale is a great choice after all.
“Cask Ale Week is a fantastic idea which will see the industry unite behind one of its most treasured and iconic assets. By working together we can really make a positive difference to the way cask ale is perceived by pub goers nationwide.”
Everards have also invited licensees to take part in an attempt to secure a new world record for the largest ever toast. The world record attempt takes place in pubs on Saturday 11 April at 7pm, where customers will simultaneously raise a toast to cask ale.
Billed as the UK’s biggest ever cask ale festival, National Cask Ale Week will see thousands of pubs staging events to celebrate and promote cask conditioned ale over the Easter period.
