Pub Shows-off its Creative Talents
Posted on 29th April 2009
Customers were treated to a showcase of local talent as the Coach and Horses, Markfield hosted its first ever art exhibition.
As part of the pubs regular Sunday carvery, customers were given the opportunity to purchase a selection of unique paintings and drawings created by local artists. The event took place in the pubs function room which was transformed into a gallery for the day. “It was a real hit with the customers who were dining with us.” said licensee David Landless. ” “The idea to hold the event came about from a suggestion by one of our customers, Simon, who is also a keen art enthusiast, and myself and Jan couldn’t have done this without his help.”
David and Jan are now looking into the possibility of hosting regular art exhibitions for local artists to display their work.
