Fundraising Takes-off at the Free Trade Inn
Posted on 21st December 2009
Brian & Joan Weaver licensees of the Free Trade Inn, Sileby have raised over £5,000 for the charity with the help of their generous customers. The pub held a number of events throughout the year including a sponsored truck pull, a darts marathon and a sponsored basketball match.
Joan said: “The support from locals and pub regulars has been overwhelming but we would not have been able to beat last year’s target had it not been for our pub sports teams. The Sileby Vikings, our pub rugby team arranged to participate in a truck pull which was being towed through several local villages and the entire village came out to cheer them on.”
The DLRAA provides life saving treatment and medication on site and en-route to hospital. The charity relies totally on public donations, fundraising activities and sponsorship. To find out more and donate funds click here
