Help Us Name Our Pub & Win A Years Supply of Beer

Posted on 19th July 2010

Pub goers in Rugby town centre will soon have a new venue to visit following a £500,000 joint investment led by Everards – and we need your help to name it.

We will start work on the new pub and dining venue on the site of the old Rugby Tavern in the centre of Rugby at the beginning of August and its doors will open in the autumn. The development will also create around 30 jobs.

The pub will be open for breakfast, brunch and coffee and will continue to serve food all day.

There will be a high quality external courtyard area featuring original cobbles and plenty of outdoor seating. The feel of the pub will be a blend of traditional and contemporary with segmented areas for dining and drinking. There will be areas appropriate for informal meetings and cosy family-friendly lounges.

We want the public to get involved in the new project and are asking people to come up with a name for the venue. We’re also seeking a business partner to work with and become a tenant, and ideally this would be someone from the immediate area who can cater for local needs.

Whoever names the pub will receive a year’s supply of beer and will also be a VIP guest on opening night, enjoying transport to and from the venue and food and drink for themselves and four friends as the name they chose is unveiled to the pub goers of Rugby.

Ideas for the new name can be submitted here and entries must be received by 20th August 2010.

Everards’ business development manager Mike Brown said: “This venue has great potential and we are really excited about seeing its transformation. Rugby is a great location and we are looking forward to welcoming old and new customers to this fresh new venue. And of course, we cannot wait to find out what it will be called!”
