Three Tigers Helps Julie Kick Her Way To The Top

Posted on 9th August 2010

The people of Leicester donned their football boots to give the England team a run for their money during this year’s World Cup as they took part in our Three Tigers Kick Off Challenge.

Wannabe Wayne and Waynetta Rooneys headed in their droves to our brewery in Narborough, Leicestershire to take part in the competition.

Julie Wadsworth from Broughton Astley triumphed and kicked her way to a year’s supply of beer and the top spot in Everard’s online hall of fame.

She said: “I’m absolutely over the moon! I was amazed that I’d won considering so many men entered the competition. I guess playing in a ladies football team in my youth must have paid off.

“I kicked around with my son as he was growing up too and now play with his children. Needless to say, he’s very proud of his 53 year old mum for beating the blokes to the beer, and even more elated at winning a year’s supply of beer courtesy of my unforgettable football skills. I’m now waiting patiently for Fabio Capello’s call!”

Competitors attempted to kick and land a football on a painted target in the middle of a specially created pitch in the brewery grounds.

Everards’ marketing manager Erika Hardy said: “Despite England’s poor efforts in the tournament it was fantastic to capture some of the World Cup fever at the brewery. Julie was amazing and England may have done better if she had been selected for the team!”
