The Maltings pub on Knightthorpe Road in Loughborough has seen a total refurbishment throughout and a new patio area built at the front in time for summer.
Licensee Gerry Franklin, who took over the Maltings 18 months ago, said: “The pub needed a facelift to give the customers a brighter and more comfortable environment to relax, socialise and dine.
“The redecoration and furnishings have made the bar and the conservatory not only great places to come and have a drink and eat but also ideal for functions and special occasions with all party sizes catered for.”
The menu has also been revamped and now includes a midweek carvery for £3.99, all you can eat buffets with all dishes locally sourced and home-made. A number of drinks are now on offer throughout the week to give customers even more good valued choice.
“The team really rallied around to get the pub reopened in time and I have to give thanks to all of them including manager Jan as they are integral to the business and are really appreciated by the customers,” said Gerry. The pub, which boasts a lounge, restaurant, bar, conservatory, garden and outdoor childrens’ activity area, held a special opening night to celebrate the development with local businesses and regulars.
“The pub is a real asset to the community as it gives people and families a place to socialise and enjoy each others’ company,” Gerry said.
The project took a total of two and half weeks to complete, although the pub itself only closed for three days to give the least disruption to customers as possible.
