Everards goes back to School...
Posted on 8th July 2009
The team of 10 from Everards descended on Dunton Basset Primary School to take part in a one day Garden makeover. The challenge, set by leading local business community organisation Leicestershire Cares, was to create a Sensory Garden that could be used by school children to grow their own plants and vegetables as well as having somewhere peaceful to enjoy.
Jan Parris, Everards Team Leader said: “We’re always looking at ways to make a positive contribution to the local community and we wanted to do something which would make a visible difference and would be here for future generations of children at the school to enjoy. The changes really speak for themselves” says Jan.“ When we arrived the garden was overgrown and distressed but all the hard work has paid off as we’ve introduced a new seating area, a pathway that leads to a small vegetable patch and new painted trellises to brighten up the area.”
On behalf of everyone at Everards and Dunton Basset Primary School, we would like to say a huge thank you to the following local companies who without their generosity, this project wouldn’t have been possible:
Travis Perkins, J R Allen & Sons, Garry Woodford, Planters (Leicester) Ltd and transport by Keystone Building and Maintenance Ltd.
