Location
The village has an active community feel with regular events organised by local committees and the Parish Council. There are also a number of local sports clubs and societies. There is a sports centre which has recently developed an all-weather pitch to cater for the needs of Fleckney and surrounding villages.

Other schools in the area include Kibworth High School which caters for 11 – 14 yr olds and Robert Smyth School in Market Harborough which caters for 14 – 16 yr olds and has a Sixth Form for 16 – 18 yr olds. Leicester City has two universities- De Montfort and the University of Leicester.
The village has excellent transport links with the A6 and A50 and the pub can be reached by Saddington Road, Arnesby Road, Leicester Road all of which feed into this quaint and pleasant village. Fleckney is about half way between Leicester and Market Harborough. It is also close to the popular Saddington Car Book Sale which attracts hundreds of visitors from across the county every Sunday between Spring and Autumn.
Historically, Fleckney was a small agricultural community but the village is steeped in a combination of agricultural and hosiery related industry. Fleckney is mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086 and it’s motto (which was decided by Lord King, Earl Lovelace, the last Lord of the Manor) is “Labour is its own reward”.
