The Plough is a Grade II, 17th century building located in Littlethorpe, a very friendly commuter village 8 miles from Leicester. The pub is situated on the main road through the village and attracts custom from both locals and the surrounding villages.

The village has grown a lot over the past 40 years due to the creation of two new housing estates. It is twinned with Genappe in Belgium and has an approximate population of 2000.

The pub is a wet led pub offering traditional, home cooked food. It has great local custom and holds many live music events. These events have helped to position the Plough as an integral part of village life. The ideal operators would have a licensed trade background, including catering skills and event organisation and be able to integrate into the local community.

Littlethorpe is a quiet rural village with a population of around 2000 people, it is situated 6 miles south of Leicester, separated from the village of Narborough by the Leicester to Birmingham railway line, and the River Soar.

The village has expanded over the past 40 years, most noticeably through the creation of two housing estates, the Jelson estate and Barratt estate. Other services include a village store and garden centre.

The village, along with Narborough, shares its twinning with the village of Genappe in Belgium. Visits continue to take place, and in 2005 a football match was held between Genappe and local team, Narborough & Littlethorpe.
