Pre-Entry Awareness Training (PEAT)
IMPORTANT NOTE: All prospective licensees wishing to take a pub with Everards must complete the PEAT online course. You will be asked to supply your certificate confirming your completion during the recruitment process.
What is PEAT?
PEAT is an e-learning package that identifies the main issues which need to be considered and investigated before signing a pub tenancy or lease agreement. It is accredited by BIIAB, the Ofqual regulated awarding body which is part of BII, the professional body for the licensed retail industry. If you are looking to take on a pub lease or tenancy in England or Wales then taking PEAT will give you the necessary knowledge to evaluate the agreement which you are seeking to enter as well as advising you of other issues which you may not be aware of.
Who is it for?
Prospective tenants/lessees who are considering signing a pub tenancy or lease agreement. PEAT is designed to ensure that you fully understand the implications of the pub tenancy or lease which you are considering signing. It will give you an awareness of the tied pub model as well as provide information on business plans, the different types of agreements available, rental calculations, the legal consequences of breach of agreement and much more.
What’s Involved?
PEAT is designed to be taken online. it will take approximately 2 hours to complete by following an interactive programme with mini quizzes throughout to test your knowledge. At the end of the training there is a short test to complete. On successful completion you will be provided with a BIIAB certificate.
