Floral and FruityIPA No.1

Renowned Beer Writer, Roger Protz declared that IPA’s are the most popular beer style in the world! Having brewed two Session IPA’s already this year, we’ve decided to brew a traditional British version of this much loved ale. What makes our version so special is that it is brewed with 100% British ingredients.

We’ve used young, fresh British Goldings and Brambling Cross hops in our IPA No.1 which have been selected and recently harvested on Friday 13th September from a hop garden in Kent. These young hops ensure a flavoursome beer with an abundance of aroma. You’ll find floral, fruity and earthy aromas with a floral and red berry, honey and blackberry flavour.

While Maris Otter may not be a household name, beer aficionados across the country know its legendary status. Once malted, it becomes the ingredient by which loyalist brewers swear. The reason? It’s a reliable and consistent ingredient, giving guaranteed depth of flavour to your beer. In fact, you could say it’s the 'Rolls Royce' of brewing barley. The longevity also speaks volumes with Maris Otter seeing over 50 years of production. When you consider that most barleys are superseded within five or six years you can see why Mans Otter malt is so special.

We’ve also used a dual strain yeast which is essentially two types of yeast living and working together in harmony to add a complexity to the beer and enhance the fruity character. We’ve cultivated this yeast at Everards, to maintain consistency of flavour. Each strain is used 10 times and then we replace with a brand new batch from the same strain to ensure that it delivers on flavour time after time.
