Oyster Stout is dark and full-bodied. Brewed with 42 real oysters to give a slightly salty character which contrasts beautifully with the sweetness of the beer, it has an enticing chocolate and treacle aroma.
Oysters and Stout are a famous match. The salty bite from the oyster meets the toasty chocolate in the stout and create a perfect balance. First matched in the 19th century when oysters were a popular bar snack, it wasn’t until 1938 that a London brewery actually put the two together in a beer. Ever since they have continued to be brewed as a classic combination but not all feature real oysters like this beer. There are even Oyster and Stout festivals to celebrate the pairing!
