Brewed with 100% British ingredientsStrong Ale No.1

Full flavoured and brewed at a higher strength, our Strong Ale No.1 is dark in colour with an amber glow. Strong ales are big, bold and satisfying with deep, complex flavours and our beer is no exception. We’ve used English Goldings and Fuggles hops to brew this classic cask ale with a dominant malt and rich alcohol warming flavour.

A premium ale calls for a premium ingredient so we’ve used Maris Otter barley. Once malted, it becomes the ingredient by which loyalist brewers swear. The reason? It’s a reliable and consistent ingredient, giving guaranteed depth of flavour to your beer. In fact, you could say it’s the ‘Rolls Royce’ of brewing barley. The longevity of its use also speaks volumes with Maris Otter seeing over 50 years of production. When you consider that most barley's are superseded within five or six years you can see why Maris Otter is so special.

A touch of black malt and molasses accentuate the sweet malts giving our beer a rich, warming and sweet flavour, so sit back relax and unwind with our Strong Ale No.1.
