National Emergency Alert test to be held on 7th September
Nationwide mobile alert test scheduled
Government has announced that a second national test of the Emergency Alerts system will take place on 7 September 2025, 3pm.
The UK’s Emergency Alerts system enables the government and the emergency services to warn people about life-threatening emergencies. The alert will cause compatible mobile phones and tablets to make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate.
Regular testing ensures the system is functioning correctly, should it need to be used in a life-threatening emergency.
