The Elephant & Castle is what comes to mind when you think of a proper village local. It was one of the very first pubs on the Everards estate and still has that village pub feel that we all love.

Situated in the quaint village of Thurlaston in Leicestershire, The Elephant & Castle is a traditional pub offering a warm and friendly welcome. You will find locals catching up over a good pint, couples and friends winding down after a busy week at work and families enjoying a good hearty home-cooked meal.

Regular quiz and open mic nights along with occasional live music, family fun days and beer festivals bring the village together as well as attracting those from a little further afield. The pub is also home to darts teams and supports the legendry pram race which takes place every boxing day.

Inside, you will find a cosy bar area with an open fire and a bar lined with a great drinks range including a good selection of well-kept cask ale. To the rear is a separate dining area seating 30 and offering a more intimate dining experience or is a perfect space for private functions and events. There is also a small snug area for those who want a quiet place to meet and chat.

Outside is a lovely decking area and beer garden, along with a secure children’s play area.

We are looking for someone or a couple who wants to immerse themselves into village life and can engage with the locals, hosting occasions and events to bring the whole village together and provide a pub for all the community to enjoy.

Previous pub experience is not essential, this one is all about being that friendly face to chat to and providing a great customer experience on every visit. Of course, good business sense is always great, along with the drive to maximise the pub's potential.

Thurlaston is a lovely small village just over 8 miles west of the City of Leicester. Local amenities include a garden centre with café, a bistro, traditional pub, village hall and primary school.

Fosse Park is less than 5 miles away which offers an extensive range of shops, supermarkets and dining out options.

Thurlaston is conveniently located for commuters, with Narborough train station only 4 miles away and Junction 21 of the M1/M69 only a 15 minute drive.
